Adhesive Transfer Tapes, also known as Unsupported Tapes, are rolls of pressure-sensitive adhesive pre-applied to a siliconized paper or film release liner. For application, the tape is simply pressed, adhesive side down, to a surface and the liner is peeled off. Transfer Tapes are generally composed of acrylic or rubber adhesive between 1-5 mils thick. They are very conformable, exhibit quick stick properties, good adhesive wet out, shear strength, and holding power even at elevated temperatures. For optimal performance, it is best to select the proper adhesive type with the surface it will be applied to.
Adhesive Transfer Tapes are used for a variety of bonding, mounting, splicing, laminating, and closure applications in electronics, appliances, auto interiors, signage, graphics, sporting equipment, aerospace, medical, and much more. Bonding Adhesive Transfer Tapes are most commonly used to hold two indifferent materials together. Examples include attaching nameplates to high and low surface energy plastic, appliance graphic overlays that perform in high temperatures, foam gasketing, and web splicing. Laminating Adhesive Transfer Tapes are often used when laminating adhesives on signs, graphics, plaques, displays, or other surfaces that require conformability and flexibility in their application. Box & Bag Sealing Tape Adhesive Transfer Tapes are used in everyday box and bag sealing. MBK specializes in adhesive transfer tapes for the direct and indirect food contact industry.
